Nick has over 15 years of experience in the mortgage industry. He was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. He moved to Omaha to attend Creighton University and has been a resident ever since. Nick is the son, nephew, grandson and godson of veterans and is familiar with the unique needs of the military and their families. With over 15 years of experience in the mortgage industry and having originated and/or supervised over $1 billion in home loans, Nick is an expert in VA, FHA, USDA and conventional loans. His team of friendly and knowledgeable loan specialists is on hand to serve you every step of the entire loan process.
Michael Anderson is a production manager at Veterans United Home Loans. Michael has worked in the mortgage industry for seven years and has held previous positions in retail banking. He’s lived in the Omaha metro area his entire life and loves living here. In addition to experience in the mortgage industry, Michael has ties to the military with a father having served in the U.S. Navy and his mother-in-law having served in the U.S. Air Force. It’s Michael’s priority to always be available to his homebuyers – military and civilian! Outside of work, Michael spends time with family, which consists of his wife, son, daughter and dog.
Cal Thompson is a loan officer at Veterans United Home Loans. Cal has worked in various parts of the home loan process, so he’s a knowledgeable partner to have in the homebuying journey. He has also lived in the Omaha area his entire life and has a family with a history of military service. With local knowledge and an understanding of military life, Cal is able to relate to his customers and go the extra mile for them. He’s excited to teach his homebuyers about the VA Loan benefit. Outside of work, Cal enjoys sports, traveling, video gaming and rooting for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Stan Hawkins is a loan officer at Veterans United Home Loans. He has lived in the Bellevue area for 12 years and is also retired from the U.S. Air Force. He’s a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha and a member of the local VFW Post. Because he’s a retired service member, Stan has first-hand knowledge of the military experience and the PCS process. He’s a helpful resource for homebuyers going through the PCS process today. Outside of work, Stan enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, golfing and traveling.
Production Support Manager
Cindy is a Nebraska native and has been in the mortgage industry for 24 years. Prior to her current role as Production Support Manager, Cindy was a loan processor, underwriter, closing supervisor and operations manager. As an expert of the mortgage industry, she strives to give her clients great service with integrity. In her spare time, Cindy enjoys boating and relaxing with friends and family at the lake. She especially loves spending time with her husband of 17 years, Troy, her two daughters, Carlie and Tinley, and their 13-year-old dog named Tater.
Director of Business Development
Katie Lieffers is the Director of Business Development at Veterans United Home Loans in Omaha. Prior to her role at Veterans United, Katie was a Realtor and considers herself well versed in the mortgage industry. She is also understanding of military lifestyle, as her husband is an Airforce veteran and her father was in the Army. Katie prides herself on making the homebuying process as fun as possible for all her customers, military and civilian. Outside of work, Katie enjoys her friends, family and two awesome dogs.
Shyanne Herdzina is an account manager at Veterans United Home Loans. She has worked in the mortgage industry since 2014 and has lived in the Omaha area since January 2016. Shyanne is proud to work with a team that cares about their homebuyers. Shyanne believes that at Veterans United, the employees take time to get to know their customers and families and will do anything to get them through the exciting homebuying process. Outside of work, Shyanne tends to her crafting business and spends time with her husband, two children and two dogs.
